So, before there can be a right livelihood, the obviously false means of earning a livelihood must first be seen; the army, the law, the police, the big business corporations that are sucking people in and exploiting them, whether in the name of the State, of capital, or of religion. When you see the false and eradicate the false, there is transformation, there is revolution; and it is that revolution alone that can create a new society. To seek, as an individual, a right livelihood, is good, is excellent, but that does not solve the vast problem. The vast problem is solved only when you and I are not seeking security. There is no such thing as security. When you seek security, what happens? What is happening in the world at the present time? All Europe wants security, is crying for it, and what is happening? They want security through their nationalism. After all, you are a nationalist because you want security, and you think that through nationalism you are going to have security. It has been proved over and over again that you cannot have security through nationalism, because nationalism is a process of isolation, inviting wars, misery and destruction. So, right livelihood on a vast scale must begin with those who understand what is false. When you are battling against the false, then you are creating the right means of livelihood. When you are battling against the whole structure of dissension, of exploitation whether by the left or by the right, or the authority of religion and the priests, that is the right profession at the present time; because, that will create a new society, a new culture. But to battle, you must see very clearly and very definitely that which is false, so that the false drops away. To discover what is false, you must be aware of it, you must observe everything that you are doing, thinking and feeling; and out of that you will not only discover what is false, but out of that there will come a new vitality, a new energy, and that energy will dictate what kind of work to do or not to do.K

ഗ്രിഗോറിയന്‍ കലണ്ടര്‍ പ്രകാരമുള്ള ജന്മദിനം (ബര്‍ത്ത്ഡേ) ഇന്നാണെങ്കിലും മലയാളം കലണ്ടര്‍ പ്രകാരം 1150 ഇടവം 13 മൂലം നക്ഷത്രത്തില്‍ ജനിച്ച എന്റെ 'പിറന്നാള്‍' 1189 ഇടവം 31 (2014 ജൂണ്‍ 14)നു ആണ്. ഈ മാസത്തില്‍ രണ്ടുതവണ മൂലം നാള്‍ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഒരേമാസത്തെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ നാളാണ് പിറന്നാളായി കണക്കിലെടുക്കേണ്ടതെന്ന് അമ്മ പറഞ്ഞുള്ള അറിവിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ ജൂണ്‍ 14നു മാത്രമേ ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ വയസ്സുകൂടിയതായി അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നുള്ളൂ! അതിനാല്‍ ഇന്നലെ മോദിയുടെ സത്യപ്രതിജ്ഞ ആഘോഷിച്ചതില്‍ ഒരു ഗ്ലാസ്‌ പ്രഥമന്‍ മാറ്റി വച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്, അതുചൂടാക്കി കഴിച്ച് ഇന്നത്തെ ജന്മദിനം ആഘോഷിക്കട്ടെ! :-)

The nature of Atman is explained here as Existence-Consciousness-Bliss.

Atman is ever pure and real.

Sri Adhi Shankara here says that these are not the qualities of the Atman but the very nature of Atman.

Atman is ever pure, and is verily Existence-Consciousness-Bliss.

“Nataraja is Shiva in the form of the Lord of the Dance. He represents the combined might of the dynamic universal energy and the awakened Soul. He is the source of all life, activity and vibration. His dance is the dance of creation. The circle of fire that surrounds Him is His primal energy that flows out of Him and again into Him. The being lying at His feet is the embodied or the deluded soul whom he shapes through a painful process of karma and suffering and liberates Him in the end from bondage. His dance is rhythmic, regular and perfect. It is the rhythm of divine perfection, which is hidden in the entire universe as an underlying current or subtle vibration. It manifests itself in many things, in the regularity of the seasons, the movement of the planets, the cyclical nature of creation, the physical, chemical and biological laws of our universe, the biorhythms of our bodies and the constitution of our cells, molecules and atoms.

The duality or multiplicity of objects in the image is for the beholder but in truth it is one complete image of the supreme Shiva. Whatever that may appear to us as separate parts of one image is but an illusion that arises because of our experience of duality. The energy or Shakti that manifests out of Him as a ring of fire is not separate from Him because it cannot hold itself or survive without Him. So is the apasmaramurthy under His feet. If you look carefully, the being is not separate from Shiva. It is connected with Him as well as with the rest of the creation. The idea that he is suffering being crushed by the feet of Siva is an illusion of our minds, a projection of our thought and an idea that exists in our minds because when we look at the image of Nataraja we, as limited beings, identify ourselves with the apasmaramurthy lying at His feet, but not with Shiva, the dancer. The circle of His energy starts from there and also ends there. There in lies the mystery. The whole of the image is an assurance to us that creation is not a chaotic and accidental phenomena but a guided and rhythmic movement under the mastery and control of the eternal self and that we too can become masters of our own movements and action by liberating ourselves from the limitations of smallness (ego) and delusion (apasmara).”
